Ahr

Germany is white wine country – but this message seems to have escaped the Ahr Valley. This small region, with its mild climate, low rainfall, and loess soils near the river of the same name, is known for its red wines, especially Pinot Noir, which thrives here. Aside from this, there are only a few other wine varieties from the region, including Blaufränkisch and Riesling.
