The Fixin “Champs de Vosger” comes from a single vineyard within the Fixin appellation. The parcel in question was planted in 1980 and has sandy soils interspersed with gravel and stony material. For Galeyrand, Fixin is an origin with particular potential: its northern location within the Côte de Nuits allows for Pinot Noir with structure and depth, while the terroir maintains a distinct freshness.

In the cellar, Galeyrand pursues a restrained approach with this wine as well. A portion of the grapes are fermented as whole clusters, and fermentation occurs with natural yeasts. During extraction, care is taken to build structure without losing the finesse of the Pinot Noir. Maturation then takes place over a longer period in wood, with new wood deliberately making up only a small proportion.

The 2024 vintage particularly suits Galeyrand's current style, which is more focused on freshness, finesse, and clear fruit than on pure concentration. "Champs de Vosger" remains a characterful Fixin with substance and structure – a Pinot Noir that beautifully expresses the often underestimated quality of this appellation.

Jérôme Galeyrand is one of the winemakers in the Côte de Nuits who are particularly dedicated to lesser-known sites. As a career changer, he started in the early 2000s with a small parcel and then carefully expanded his domaine. Today, he cultivates only a few hectares in various communes of the Côte de Nuits. His work is strongly influenced by organic viticulture, a lot of manual labor, and the desire to bring the unique characteristics of each individual parcel into the bottle as unadulterated as possible.
