The 2022 Riesling Sekt brut zero from Weiser-Künstler presents an uncompromisingly puristic interpretation of Mosel Sekt. The grapes come from steep slate vineyards around Traben-Trarbach and Enkirch, which lend the Sekt a cool minerality and incredibly precise tension. As a Brut Zero, the style remains deliberately completely dry and unadulterated.
In 2022, the Sekt appears incredibly clear and vibrant. The fine perlage combines with salty slate minerality and a taut acidic structure to create a very linear, almost electric style. Instead of creamy opulence or prominent fruit, Weiser-Künstler clearly focuses on freshness, precision, and origin.
The long yeast aging brings additional depth and texture without losing the wine's lightness. As a result, the Riesling Sekt exhibits a very distinctive Mosel character – fine, mineral, and with a long, salty finish.
