The Ellergrub is one of the most impressive slate sites on the Mosel, producing Rieslings that are as delicate as they are uncompromisingly mineral. The "Grosse Eule" selection showcases this site even more concentrated and precise – a wine that functions less through fruit and more through tension, depth, and structure.
In 2023, the Riesling appears incredibly focused and almost electrifying. Despite its intensity, the wine remains lean, transparent, and full of energy. Instead of opulent aromatics, Weiser-Künstlerdeliberately emphasizes salty slate minerality, herbal spice, and a vibrant acid structure that runs through the entire wine.
With aeration, the "Grosse Eule" develops enormous calm and complexity without losing its cool freshness. The vinification remains uncompromisingly puristic and minimalistic, allowing the origin and vintage to take center stage unadulterated. An extremely precise, terroir-driven Mosel Riesling with a long, vibrating finish and great aging potential.

Complex aromas of ripe apricot, peach and mango, underpinned by herbs such as lemon balm and mint, as well as smoky slate spice.
Dense and profound with firm acidity and salty minerality, the long finish reveals exotic fruit and spice notes.
It goes particularly well with spicy Asian dishes, fried scallops, mature goat cheese or aromatic fish dishes.
