Description
The Gaispfad is one of the most distinctive sites of Weiser-Künstler. The extremely steep slate slopes on the Mosel produce Rieslings that function less through fruit and more through tension, minerality, and precision. The meager soils, in particular, lend the wine this cool, almost salty style that is so typical for the winery.
In 2022, the Gaispfad is incredibly focused and vibrant. The Riesling appears slim and nimble, yet builds enormous pressure and depth. Instead of opulent aromatics, Weiser-Künstler consciously relies on herbal spice, stony minerality, and a very linear structure. With air, the wine develops additional calmness and complexity, without losing its freshness.
The vinification remains uncompromisingly puristic and minimalistic, so that the origin and vintage remain unadulterated. As a result, the Gaispfad shows a very distinctive Mosel style – cool, precise, and with a long, vibrating finish.

Delicate aromas of citrus fruit, green apple and peach, the scent is carried by the wet slate minerality and shows lime zest and herbal spice.
Very firm and precise with lively acidity, delicate residual sugar and pronounced salty minerality, elegant and multifaceted.
It pairs perfectly with light fish dishes, seafood, Asian cuisine with a subtle spiciness, or goat cheese.
