Description
The Trabener Gaispfad is one of the coolest and most barren slate sites on the Moselle. The extremely steep slopes give the Riesling a distinctive mineral tension and precisely this delicate, almost vibrating style for which Weiser-Künstler is known. As a dry Kabinett, the wine is particularly light-footed and precise.
2024 is incredibly clear and energetic. The Riesling appears lean and straightforward, yet full of drive and tension. Instead of fruit fullness, Weiser-Künstler consciously focuses on herbal spice, salty slate minerality and an almost dancing freshness. It is precisely this combination of lightness and intensity that makes the wine so fascinating.
The vinification remains uncompromisingly puristic and minimalist, so that the origin and vintage are unadulteratedly in the spotlight. As a result, the Gaispfad shows a very distinctive Moselle style – cool, precise and with a long, vibrating finish.
