This is all about richness and substance: Pinot Gris from the Palatinate often comes with nutty and almond notes, a touch of butter, along with pear, dried fruit, and citrus. Medium-bodied on the palate, often slightly acidic and wonderfully rounded – a wine with a "mouthful of wine" vibe, only white.

Keuper is a soil type composed of clay-rich, calcareous sediments and is found particularly in southern and central Germany. In viticulture, Keuper soils are nutrient-rich but require careful attention to water and air balance. This can give wines more body and spice – depending on how the site is managed.
