Position

The Ehrenhausen wine region lies in the southeast of Southern Styria and is known for its medium to heavy limestone and opok soils (calcareous marl). The vineyards stretch between 300 and 530 meters above sea level and benefit from their proximity to the Mur River. The wines exhibit delicate citrus notes, ripe acidity, and a salty-spicy finish. Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Gris, in particular, thrive here.

 

Grape varieties

Welschriesling from Styria is light, fresh, and lively, with a pronounced acidity – usually green apple or citrus fruit – and a fine acidity. A wonderfully uncomplicated and refreshing wine, perfect for summer.
