Welschriesling
Welschriesling, likely originating in northern Italy, is cultivated in several Central European countries, including Austria, Hungary, Slovenia, and Croatia. This versatile grape variety covers almost all maturity categories, from high-acid sparkling wine bases to lusciously sweet Trockenbeerenauslese wines. Typical of Welschriesling are fruity and spicy aromas of green apple and citrus, often accompanied by notes of hay blossom and a mineral character. On the palate, it impresses with a lively, harmonious acidity and a juicy, distinctive style. Prädikat wines exude a creamy, velvety fragrance with aromas of dried fruit and white pepper, which develop into black tea notes with aging.
