Even in Gevrey-Chambertin, there are few winemakers who can compare to Domaine Fourrier: Jean-Marie Fourier, who has run the estate since 1994 as the third generation owner, is completely dedicated to the tradition of his vineyards. With strict vine selection, winter pruning, and rigorous sorting, Fourrier tends to the vines, some of which are a hundred years old. In vinification, he largely avoids new oak and carries out only a few rackings, thus preserving the wine's fruit-driven character. The resulting Pinot Noirs are intense and complex, yet elegant and full of character. It is no wonder that they are true "bestsellers" among Burgundy wines on the market.
