The Riesling “Osterberg” Grand Cru 2024 from Albert Boxler (more info on the winemaker) displays a particularly expressive and somewhat more generous side of Riesling. Compared to the house's tauter wines, the Osterberg presents with more ripe fruit, volume, and a supple structure, without losing its typical freshness and precision.
The 2024 vintage brings out a beautiful tension between ripe stone fruit, citrus, and mineral notes. On the palate, the wine is dense and juicy, with finely integrated acidity and plenty of substance. Yellow fruits and a subtle spice provide depth, while the mineral structure lends the wine elegance and length. A characterful Grand Cru that already shows a lot of expression when young and should develop additional complexity with further bottle aging.
