Description
The Johann Donabaum Riesling Smaragd Ried Setzberg 2022 comes from a steep terraced vineyard in the Spitzer Graben, known for its particularly mineral-rich and long-lived Rieslings. The barren primary rock soils and the cool microclimate provide a great deal of tension, depth, and a clear Wachau character.
The 2022 vintage produced concentrated yet elegant wines. The long ripening periods allowed for a slow development of the grapes, harmoniously combining power and freshness in the wine.
Johann Donabaum works with great care in the vineyard and focuses on a calm, precise maturation process in the cellar to ensure that the origin of the site is clearly at the forefront. As a Smaragd, the Riesling exhibits a lot of structure, mineral clarity, and great aging potential.
