Simon Gattinger's Grüner Veltliner Loiben Federspiel 2024 comes from the Wachau vineyards around Loiben, an area known for its finely spiced and particularly crisp Veltliner wines. The combination of the Danube's influence, barren soils, and cool nights ensures plenty of freshness and a precise structure.
As a Federspiel, the wine is lighter on its feet and more straightforward than the powerful Smaragds, yet it remains typically Wachau: elegant, mineral, and with great drinkability. The 2024 vintage appears particularly harmonious and lively, with a beautiful balance of freshness, spice, and tension.
