Lage

The soils in the region of the Harkamp Winery are characterized by a diversity that imparts a distinctive note to the wines. The vineyards extend across various soil types, including calcareous soils and gravel. This diversity provides the vines with optimal conditions to develop complex aromas. The soils in this region significantly contribute to the terroir of the wines by imparting a unique mineral quality and freshness. The harmonious combination of soil diversity and meticulous winemaking makes the wines of Harkamp outstanding representatives of Styrian wine tradition.

Rebsorten

The grapes are destemmed and fermented on the skins for about 4 weeks. After that, the wine matures for 1 to 1.5 years in a clay amphora and in wooden barrels. On the nose, you will find almonds, damp earth, orange zest, and herbs. On the palate, fennel, red bell pepper, tea, and celery are prominent. It presents itself as tight, with a finely textured structure, fruity acidity, and a long-lasting, spicy finish.
