Description
The "Im Sonnenschein" is one of the great Burgundy sites of the Southern Palatinate and produces Pinot Noirs with great elegance and mineral depth. The calcareous soils around Siebeldingen give the wine a fine, cool tension and precisely this precise structure, which is typical of Dr. Wehrheim's signature style.
The 2023 Spätburgunder is particularly fine and transparent. The wine appears silky and calm, yet incredibly precise and full of tension. Instead of focusing on power or heavy extraction, Dr. Wehrheim consciously opts for finesse, clarity and an almost Burgundian lightness.
The aging in wooden barrels remains subtly in the background and supports the fine texture of the wine, without obscuring the origin of the site. This makes the GG appear very elegant and terroir-driven – with cool minerality, fine spice and a long, silky finish.
