Description
The "La Chapelle" is Prinz's most uncompromising Pinot Noir interpretation, sourced from the best parcels of the Hallgartener Hendelberg vineyard. The high-altitude site, with its slate and quartzite-rich soils, imparts a cool minerality and an exceptionally precise structure to the wine. Despite its depth, the Pinot never appears heavy, but rather fine, taut, and Burgundian in character.
The 2022 "La Chapelle" is incredibly calm and elegant. The wine builds pressure and complexity rather subtly, with a silky texture, fine spice, and a cool, almost saline tension. Instead of focusing on power or massive extraction, Prinz deliberately emphasizes transparency, finesse, and terroir.
The oak barrel aging is perfectly integrated, adding extra depth without masking the wine's finesse. This makes the Hendelberg "La Chapelle" very precise and long-lived – a Pinot Noir with enormous elegance, a mineral drive, and a long, silky finish.
