Description
A German living in Austria is no longer a rarity. Nevertheless, the 2024 Riesling Pfalzwerk from the Grabenwerkstatt winery in the Wachau region offers an exceptionally exciting drinking experience: Palatinate juiciness combined with the straightforward elegance of the Wachau. The grapes come from the top Deidesheimer Herrgottsacker vineyard (Triassic sandstone) and are vinified in the Wachau by Michael Linke, a native of the Palatinate.
This wine impresses with aromas of yellow stone fruit, apple, quince, and ripe citrus fruits, underscored by chalky minerality and a vibrant, polished chalky grip. The harmonious balance between Palatinate fruit richness and Wachau structure makes it a multifaceted, elegant pleasure with a long, mineral finish. A unique Riesling for lovers of modern, terroir-driven wines.
