The Johann Donabaum Riesling Smaragd Ried Offenberg 2023 comes from one of the most distinctive Riesling vineyards in the Spitzer Graben. The steep terraces with meager primary rock soils and the cool climate of the Wachau create ideal conditions for elegant, mineral, and long-lived Rieslings with clear provenance.
The 2023 vintage produced particularly precise and balanced wines. The long growing season allowed for slow grape ripening and ensured a harmonious combination of freshness, depth, and fine structure.
Johann Donabaum focuses on natural viticulture and very careful aging to preserve the authentic character of the vineyard. As a Smaragd, the Ried Offenberg shows great tension, mineral clarity, and great development potential – an expressive Wachau Riesling with elegance and finesse.
