Position

Falkenlay is one of the most prestigious single vineyards within the Marienburg appellation on the Moselle. The steep, south-facing terraces consist of deep, grey slate, which imparts a distinctive minerality and powerful structure to the wines. The vineyard benefits from its proximity to the Moselle River, whose reflected warmth ensures optimal grape ripening, while the lean soils and microclimate produce concentrated, elegant Rieslings with fine acidity and an almost creamy texture. Falkenlay is considered one of the most versatile parcels in Marienburg – less opulent than Rothenpfad, but denser and more structured than Fahrlay. Here, wines of great depth are created, combining both fruit richness and crystalline freshness.

Grape varieties

Riesling is a first-class white wine known for its versatility and elegance. It is characterized by pronounced acidity, delicate fruit aromas, invigorating, light minerality, and outstanding aging potential. Thanks to the balanced climate, extensive steep slopes, and a veritable patchwork of soil types, the Mosel region in particular produces Riesling wines of the highest quality.
