Position

The vineyards of the Weiser-Künstler winery stretch along the Moselle River in Germany and are renowned for their unique soil composition. This region is characterized primarily by slate soils, typical of the Moselle. The slate has excellent heat retention properties, which helps support the vines in the cooler climatic conditions of the Moselle. Furthermore, the slate imparts a mineral note and a distinctive terroir expression to the wines. This soil type plays a crucial role in the production of Weiser-Künstler's first-class Rieslings, lending them elegance, complexity, and an unmistakable personality.

Grape varieties

Riesling is a first-class white wine renowned for its versatility and elegance. It typically presents an aromatic bouquet of fresh citrus fruits such as lime, grapefruit, and green apple, accompanied by floral notes like jasmine or lilac. On the palate, it is lively and refreshing, with a vibrant acidity that accentuates the fruity flavors. A defining characteristic of Riesling is its ability to express terroir and origin, which can result in a wide range of flavors from dry to sweet. Dry Rieslings are crisp and mineral, while sweet Rieslings exhibit an impressive balance between sweetness and acidity. Overall, Riesling is a refreshing and expressive wine that pairs well with a variety of dishes and is considered one of the world's finest white wines.
