Position
Leutschach is the southernmost village wine region in Southern Styria and is characterized by heavy calcareous marl soils (Opok) and steep, south-facing, bowl-shaped vineyards. The vineyards lie at an altitude of 380 to 570 meters and benefit from significant temperature variations between day and night. The wines, especially Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay, exhibit spicy, dark aromas, a robust structure, and juicy elegance.
Grape varieties
Morillon, also known as Chardonnay, is a noble white wine grape variety from southern Styria. The wines are elegant, complex, and versatile, with aromas of ripe yellow fruits and a creamy texture. Morillon pairs well with fish, poultry, pasta with cream sauce, and aged cheeses. It is a highly prized grape variety that delights discerning gourmets and wine lovers alike.
