Description
The Deidesheimer Herrgottsacker is one of the classic Riesling sites in the Central Haardt region and produces wines with great elegance and delicate mineral tension. The chalk and sandstone-rich soils around Deidesheim lend the wine a clear structure and that typical balance of power and freshness for which the Palatinate is known. As a VDP.Erste Lage (1G), the Herrgottsacker stands for precise origin character and high quality.
The 2023 vintage presents itself as particularly clear and harmonious. The Riesling appears taut and focused, yet at the same time juicy and very accessible. Instead of extreme opulence, von Winning deliberately focuses on tension, minerality, and an elegant, dry style.
Maturation with extensive fine lees contact and precise cellar work lends the wine additional depth and structure. As a result, the Herrgottsacker shows a lot of character, fine salty freshness, and a long, precise finish with the typical von Winning signature.
