"La Champine" showcases the particularly approachable yet terroir-driven side of the northern Rhône. Jean-Michel Gerin is one of the region's most renowned producers, and in this cuvée too, he combines great precision with typical Rhône spice and elegance. The granite-influenced soils lend the Syrah a fine mineral tension and a clear, vibrant structure.
The 2024 vintage presents itself as fresh, juicy, and incredibly harmoniously structured. The Syrah combines dark fruit with fine spice, floral nuances, and a silky, uncomplicatedly approachable structure. Instead of massive concentration or heavy extraction, "La Champine" clearly focuses on balance, drinkability, and Rhône-typical freshness. It is precisely this combination of expression and elegance that makes the wine particularly charming and versatile.
The aging process remains deliberately restrained and excellently integrated, so that the grape variety, origin, and vintage are uncompromisingly at the forefront. As a result, "La Champine" displays a modern yet classic Rhône style – spicy, mineral, and with a long, fresh, silky finish.
