The vineyards of Domaine Georges Vernay are planted on diverse soils that shape the distinctive characteristics of the wines. In the Condrieu appellation, the soils are primarily granitic, giving the wines a mineral structure and finesse. In the Côte-Rôtie appellation, the soils vary, ranging from granite and schist to clay and sand.
Les Chaillées de l'Enfer is a wine with "crazy charm." It combines fruits (apricot, pear, white peach…) with citrus notes, waxy hints, and other more floral (white flowers, rose, violet), herbaceous (mint, thyme), and spicy (ginger, saffron) elements. This Condrieu is full of tension, salty and iodized, with a racy character and a very refreshing quality. It is a wine of great purity, offering a beautiful firm yet delicate balance.
