The vineyards of Domaine Georges Vernay are planted on diverse soils, which influence the characteristic qualities of the wines. In the Condrieu appellation, the soils are predominantly granitic, imparting a mineral structure and finesse to the wines. In the Côte-Rôtie appellation, the soils are varied, ranging from granite and schist to clay and sand.
Les Chaillées de l'Enfer is a wine with a "crazy charm". It combines fruits (apricot, pear, white peach...) with citrus fruits, waxy notes, and other floral (white blossoms, rose, violet...), herbal (mint, thyme...) and spice notes (ginger, saffron...).
Condrieu is full of tension, salty and iodized, racy, with a very nice freshness; it is a wine of great purity, with a beautiful firm and delicate balance.
