Description
The Graacher Domprobst is one of the most elegant and at the same time profound Riesling sites on the Mosel. The steep Devonian slate slopes lend the wine a cool, salty minerality and that almost weightless tension that makes Willi Schaefer's Kabinetts so legendary. Here, it's never about volume, but about finesse, balance, and precision.
In 2023, the Kabinett is incredibly vibrant and crystal clear. The delicate sweetness practically floats above the vibrating acidity, creating enormous lightness despite intense concentration. Instead of opulent fruit, the wine focuses more on slate spice, transparency, and an almost dancing elegance.
Typical for Willi Schaefer, the winemaking remains uncompromisingly classic and restrained. This makes the Domprobst incredibly delicate and filigree, yet with air and age, it develops astonishing depth. A Mosel Kabinett full of tension, precision, and a long, floating finish.
