Description
The “Message in a Bottle” Rosso 2025 takes its name from the famous The Police song and combines classic Tuscan grape varieties with a more modern cuvée style. The foundation is 70% Sangiovese, complemented by 15% each of Syrah and Merlot. The Sangiovese provides freshness and structure, while the Syrah and Merlot contribute additional fruit, spice, and suppleness.
The grapes are hand-harvested and then fermented under temperature control. The maceration period during fermentation is about seven to eight days. The wine then matures for around twelve months in wood, which rounds out the structure without overshadowing the typical cherry fruit of the Sangiovese.
With the 2025 vintage, this creates an accessible yet characterful Toscana Rosso that blends traditional and international grape varieties. Juicy fruit, fine spice, and a lively acidity make it a versatile representative of Il Palagio – uncomplicated enough for everyday enjoyment, yet with enough structure and regional character for classic Tuscan cuisine.
