Description
The 2023 "Bronzelack" (bronze label) showcases the more approachable, yet still very classic side of Schloss Johannisberg. The grapes originate from the famous slate and quartzite vineyards above the Rhine, which impart that typical Rheingau tension and delicate mineral elegance to the wine.
In 2023, the Riesling appears vibrant and clear, with abundant freshness and a juicy, animating character. Compared to the grand dry single-vineyard wines, the focus here is less on depth and more on drinkability and balance. Nevertheless, the wine clearly displays the cool precision and elegant signature of the estate.
The vinification remains intentionally traditional and straightforward, ensuring that the origin and grape varietal remain clearly discernible. This gives the "Bronzelack" a very harmonious and finely structured feel – with fresh acidity, delicate minerality, and an elegant, dry finish.
