Bertrand Machard de Gramont's Nuits-Saint-Georges "Les Terrasses des Vallerots" 2023 is a characterful Pinot Noir that combines the powerful origin of Nuits-Saint-Georges with an astonishingly delicate and vibrant style.
In the glass, the wine displays juicy red and dark fruit. Cherries, raspberries, and dark forest berries are accompanied by floral, herbal, and finely spicy notes. With some aeration, earthy and mineral nuances emerge, adding further depth to the wine.
On the palate, the 2023 vintage is concentrated but by no means heavy. The tannins are present and finely structured, while a vibrant freshness provides tension and balance. The clear fruit is supported by a slightly stony minerality and fine spice. The finish is long, fresh, and precise.
