Description
The Gevrey-Chambertin “Vieilles Vignes” 2024 from Domaine Heresztyn-Mazzini is a characterful Pinot Noir in which the power of Gevrey-Chambertin meets a precise and elegant style. The old vines give the wine additional depth and concentration, while the 2024 vintage shows a particularly fresh and finely drawn side.
In the glass, the wine presents clear fruit of cherries, red berries, and darker currants. This is complemented by floral notes and a fine spicy side, which gains expression with some aeration.
On the palate, the Vieilles Vignes is juicy and structured, without being heavy. The tannins are finely drawn and give the wine support, while a lively freshness provides tension and balance. Red and dark fruits are accompanied by spicy, herbaceous, and slightly earthy nuances. The finish is elegant, persistent, and pleasantly fresh.
