Description
The Pommard 2023 comes from the winery's home appellation and is produced from Pinot Noir from various parcels within Pommard. The limestone and clay soils of the commune traditionally give the wines more structure and depth than many other origins of the Côte de Beaune. However, Violot-Guillemard interprets this classic Pommard character not through pure power, but by combining it with freshness and a finer tannin structure.
The 2023 vintage in Burgundy yielded ripe and healthy grapes, lending the wine a particularly beautiful balance between juicy fruit and structure. The natural substance of Pommard remains clearly discernible, but is balanced by a vibrant freshness and the elegant signature of the winery.
This makes this Pommard a very good introduction to the work of Violot-Guillemard: an origin-typical Pinot Noir with substance and aging potential, which at the same time possesses enough finesse to bring joy even in its youth.
The Domaine Violot-Guillemard has been rooted in Pommard for generations and is one of the traditional family estates of the Côte de Beaune. Today, Joannès Violot-Guillemard stands for a handcrafted interpretation of Burgundy, strongly influenced by the individual parcels. The organic cultivation of the vineyards and a restrained approach in the cellar are primarily intended to achieve one thing: to clearly reflect the character of the respective origin in the wine.
