Description
The Riesling Ried Steinertal 2024 is one of F.X. Pichler's most precise and mineral Rieslings (learn more about the winemaker). The famous Steinertal vineyard is one of the coolest and most barren sites in the Wachau and is known for its primeval rock-dominated soils. These special conditions give the wine exceptional clarity, tension, and elegance. For many years, Steinertal has been considered one of Austria's great Riesling sites, producing wines with impressive finesse and longevity.
The 2024 vintage presents itself as focused, linear, and full of energy. The vibrant freshness of the Riesling is supported by a deep mineral structure, which gives the wine precision and character. Instead of relying on power or opulence, the Steinertal emphasizes finesse, expression of origin, and an almost crystalline clarity. It is precisely this combination of fruit, acidity, and minerality that makes it one of the most elegant Rieslings in the Wachau.
The vinification is deliberately restrained, allowing the special characteristics of the site and the typicality of the Riesling to come to the fore without restriction. This results in a wine with impressive tension, a fine structure, and a long, mineral-driven finish. The Ried Steinertal 2024 already possesses great expressiveness in its youth and also has excellent aging potential.
