Description
Wohlmuth's Riesling Kitzeck-Sausal 2024 originates from one of Austria's coolest and steepest wine regions. The extreme slate slopes around Kitzeck lend the wine a distinctive mineral tension and a very precise, cool style, typical of the Sausal region.
The 2024 vintage presents itself with remarkable clarity and focus. The Riesling appears taut and lively, yet elegantly and harmoniously structured. Instead of opulent fruit, Wohlmuth deliberately emphasizes freshness, structure, and a delicate, stony minerality.
The reductive vinification underscores the vineyard's origin and gives the wine a puristic South Styrian character. As a result, the Riesling exhibits great precision, saline tension, and a long, animating finish with significant aging potential.
