Description
Chambolle-Musigny is located south of Morey-Saint-Denis and is one of the finest red wine appellations of the Côte de Nuits. Limestone plays a particularly important role here: the comparatively fine, stony soils and numerous slopes favor Pinot Noir with an elegant structure, floral aromatics, and pronounced mineral tension. Compared to Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambolle often stands less for power than for finesse and silky texture.
The Chambolle-Musigny 2024 thus displays a particularly elegant side of the Fourrier signature. The grapes are carefully selected and then processed as gently as possible. For maturation, the Domaine also favors a restrained use of new wood, so that fruit, structure, and origin remain clearly discernible.
The 2024 vintage was extremely challenging due to the humid growing season and high disease pressure. Yields were small, but consistent selection resulted in fine and fresh Pinot Noir wines. Fourrier's Chambolle-Musigny combines this freshness with the natural elegance of the appellation – precise, floral, and finely structured, with a mineral tension that adds depth and aging potential to the wine.
