Description
The Clos-Saint-Denis Grand Cru 2024 from Domaine Heresztyn-Mazzini is an exceptionally fine Pinot Noir from one of Morey-Saint-Denis's great Grand Cru sites. Here, the focus is less on sheer power and weight, and more on elegance, aromatic depth, and a precise, silky structure.
On the nose, the wine reveals itself to be multifaceted and refined. Red cherries, raspberries, and dark forest berries combine with floral notes, fine spices, and a subtle herbaceous spiciness. With some aeration, earthy and mineral nuances emerge, adding further complexity to the wine.
On the palate, the Clos-Saint-Denis appears concentrated yet remarkably elegant. The tannins are fine and supple, the fruit possesses depth and is supported by a lively freshness. Spicy and stony accents provide tension, while the silky texture gives the wine a particularly elegant appearance.
The finish is long, precise, and complex. Fruit, floral notes, and fine spice linger for a long time. A great Burgundy that reveals its class even when young, but will develop its true potential with further bottle aging.
