Description
The Loibenberg is one of the warmest and most distinctive Riesling sites in the Wachau. The steep terraces above Loiben produce wines with great power and depth, while the primary rock provides the typical mineral tension.
The 2023 Riesling shows a very clear and precise style. Despite its power, the wine does not feel heavy, but rather taut and focused, with great drive and a cool, stony character in the finish. It is precisely this blend of ripeness, tension, and elegance that makes the Loibenberg so special.
FJ Gritsch relies on a rather purist vinification, which clearly highlights the origin and vintage.

It slowly opens with aromas of grapefruit, gooseberry, red peach and a hint of Earl Grey tea.
Powerful and clearly structured, with lively acidity and a mineral backbone.
