Description
The HILL BRUT Reserve 2019 is one of the most sophisticated sparkling wines from the Leo Hillinger winery in Jois, Burgenland. The grapes are sourced from organically cultivated vineyards around Lake Neusiedl and the Leitha Mountains. The Pannonian climate ensures good ripening, while the cooler influences of the Leitha range help to preserve the freshness and acidity that are crucial for high-quality sparkling wine.
The Reserve is produced using the traditional method of bottle fermentation. After the base wine is produced, the second fermentation takes place directly in the bottle. Subsequently, the 2019 vintage undergoes a long maturation period on the lees. This elaborate process ensures a particularly fine perlage and lends the wine additional depth without losing its fresh character.
The long aging on the lees significantly shapes the style of the HILL BRUT Reserve. Alongside the fruit, fine notes of brioche, pastry, and nuts develop, while the natural acidity provides tension. As a result, the Reserve is not intended solely as an aperitif but possesses enough structure to accompany an entire meal.
The HILL BRUT Reserve 2019 thus combines the mature style of a vintage sparkling wine with precision and freshness. An elegant Austrian Brut that focuses above all on long aging on the lees, fine perlage, and a balanced structure.
