The vineyards of Domaine Georges Vernay are planted on diverse soils that shape the distinctive characteristics of the wines. In the Condrieu appellation, the soils are primarily granitic, giving the wines a mineral structure and finesse. In the Côte-Rôtie appellation, the soils vary, ranging from granite and schist to clay and sand.
Coteau de Vernon is a wine of great complexity yet extreme elegance, offering one of the finest expressions of Viognier's subtlety. This Condrieu, unique among Condrieus and the heart of both the appellation and the Domaine, presents aromas of yellow fruits, fresh or candied citrus, and exotic fruits, accented by delightful bitter notes, depending on the vintage. Its balance is always perfect, with plenty of freshness, herbal and menthol notes, white flowers, and a beautiful acidity.
