Description
The Ried Edelschuh is one of the Sausal's grand Riesling vineyards. The extremely steep slate slopes around Kitzeck and the cool microclimate lend the wine an exceptionally precise, mineral, and vibrant style. As a Große STK Lage (GSTK), the Edelschuh stands for uncompromising regional character and enormous aging potential.
The 2022 vintage is deep and incredibly focused. The Riesling appears taut and elegant, with abundant saline minerality and a cool, clear structure. Instead of opulent fruit, Wohlmuth deliberately emphasizes tension, precision, and a terroir-driven style.
The reductive vinification underscores the vineyard's origin, making the wine appear very pure. As a result, Ried Edelschuh exhibits great depth, mineral clarity, and a long, complex finish with exceptional elegance and development potential.
