The Gewürztraminer Grand Cru Brand 2023 from Albert Boxler (more info about the winemaker) is an intense and exceptionally complex white wine from one of Alsace's most significant Grand Cru sites. The Brand site is heavily influenced by granite, lending an exciting mineral facet to the naturally opulent Gewürztraminer.
The 2023 vintage presents itself as aromatic and powerful, yet remains surprisingly precise. Ripe yellow and exotic fruits meet floral notes and a delicate spiciness. The natural sweetness provides richness and a smooth texture, while mineral and slightly tart accents give the wine structure and tension. In the long finish, fruit, spice, and the stony character of the site once again become distinctly apparent. A Grand Cru with strong character, great aromatic depth, and excellent aging potential.
