Description
Château Faugères is one of Saint-Émilion's modern, top-tier wineries, situated on the appellation's limestone and clay hillsides. The wines combine the ripe power of the Right Bank Bordeaux with astonishingly precise mineral freshness. Especially the chalky soils lend the wine great tension and elegance despite its concentration.
The 2018 vintage is opulent and profound, yet without appearing heavy. This vintage brings immense ripeness, dense structure, and much dark spice, but also remarkable balance. Instead of sheer power, Faugères consciously focuses on fine tannins, precision, and a modern, very harmonious style.
The aging in oak barrels is generous but perfectly integrated, adding extra depth and texture. This makes the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé appear powerful yet very refined – with a ripe structure, mineral drive, and a long, elegant finish.
