Description
The Meursault "Les Luchets" 2024 comes from a small 0.27-hectare plot. The Chardonnay vines were planted in several stages between 1956 and 2017. The east-facing vineyard has well-structured, porous clay-limestone soils. Les Luchets is located in the northern part of Meursault, not far from the border with Auxey-Duresses, and produces a particularly taut and mineral-driven expression of the appellation.
Pierre Vincent first works the soil and then allows natural vegetation to grow again. The grapes are entirely hand-picked and rigorously selected. The harvest date is also chosen individually for each plot, an important part of his philosophy, where not maximum ripeness but the balance between fruit, freshness, and origin is decisive.
After a long and gentle pressing, fermentation begins partly in stainless steel. The Chardonnay then matures for around twelve months in barrels, with only about 15% new wood being used. A further six months in stainless steel tanks give the wine additional rest before bottling. This results in a sophisticated Meursault that focuses less on opulence and more on tension, precision, and mineral depth.
The Domaine Pierre Vincent in Auxey-Duresses stands for a very precise and parcel-specific interpretation of the Côte de Beaune. After many years of working at Domaine de la Vougeraie and Domaine Leflaive, Pierre Vincent now brings his extensive experience to his own winery. The focus is on small vineyards, careful manual labor, and a vinification that allows as much room as possible for the character of the respective origin.
