Description
With “Aux Vergelesses”, Pierre Vincent owns a wine from one of the most prestigious Premier Cru sites in Savigny-lès-Beaune. The vineyard is located in the southern part of the appellation towards Pernand-Vergelesses. The hillside location and limestone subsoil offer Pinot Noir excellent conditions for a combination of fine structure, freshness, and mineral tension. Compared to more powerful origins of the Côte de Beaune, the elegant and precise side of Pinot Noir is particularly emphasized here.
The challenging 2024 vintage required intensive work in the vineyard and careful selection during harvesting. Precisely Pierre Vincent's meticulous approach benefits such a year: the grapes are processed parcel by parcel and vinified with the aim of preserving the natural freshness and individual character of the vineyard. Wood is used selectively during aging, without overshadowing the wine's origin.
This results in a Premier Cru that combines the delicate nature of Savigny-lès-Beaune with additional depth and structure. Aux Vergelesses 2024 is an elegant, vibrant Pinot Noir whose quality stems primarily from its special location and Pierre Vincent's precise working methods. A wine with finesse and excellent aging potential.
The Domaine Pierre Vincent in Auxey-Duresses is the personal project of Pierre Vincent, who previously worked for many years at Domaine de la Vougeraie and later at Domaine Leflaive. In his own Domaine, he focuses on small plots and a very precise interpretation of the different terroirs of the Côte de Beaune. Meticulous manual work in the vineyard, selective hand harvesting, and a restrained aging process form the basis of his work.
