Emrich-Schönleber – Riesling Monzinger Halgans VDP.Ortswein 2023

Although classified as a Monzingen village wine, the 2023 Halgans Riesling originates almost entirely from the Grand Cru vineyard Halenberg in the Nahe region. This dry Riesling reveals a reserved, stony elegance with dark spice , graphite, and flint . In the glass, notes of crisp blueberry, blackcurrant, and a delicate smoky minerality, typical of the blue slate soils of the Halenberg, unfold.

On the palate, the Halgans impresses with its delicate length , cool precision, and fine, salty-mineral structure. Less fruit-forward than the Frühtau, it convinces with its profound terroir character and an almost Buddhist balance – a Riesling of great finesse and a long finish.
