The legendary VDP.Große Lage Kupfergrube vineyard near Schlossböckelheim grows on steep, volcanic melaphyre and produces intense Rieslings with smoky, salty minerality and ripe fruit. These wines are among the great wines of the Nahe region.

 

Grape varieties

Riesling from the Nahe Valley is characterized by the diverse soils of slate, quartzite, and volcanic rock. The wines display aromas of ripe apples, citrus, and a delicate herbal spiciness, combined with a firm, invigorating acidity, noticeable minerality, and a very sharp precision. The mild climate and sun-drenched slopes give Nahe Riesling a harmonious balance, making it a versatile accompaniment to fish, seafood, or Asian cuisine.
