Description
The Côte de Nuits-Villages Vieilles Vignes beautifully showcases Jérôme Galeyrand's precise and puristic signature. The old vines give the Pinot Noir significantly more depth and structure, while the lime and clay-rich soils of the Côte de Nuits provide a fine mineral tension and classic Burgundian elegance.
The wine appears calm and focused, yet lively and full of energy. Instead of aiming for power or heavy extraction, Galeyrand deliberately focuses on transparency, freshness, and a very clear line. Fine red fruit, subtle spice, and a silky structure harmoniously intertwine, giving the wine much Burgundian finesse.
The maturation process remains deliberately discreet and minimalistic, so that origin and vintage are uncompromisingly at the forefront. As a result, the Côte de Nuits-Villages Vieilles Vignes displays a very classic Côte-de-Nuits style – mineral, elegant, and with a long, silky finish.
