Description
"Champs de Vosger" from Fixin showcases the cooler and often underestimated side of the Côte de Nuits. The lime and clay-rich soils impart a striking mineral tension and a taut, precise structure to the Pinot Noir. Jérôme Galeyrand interprets the site very puristically and terroir-driven – with a focus on transparency and finesse rather than power.
The wine appears lively and focused, yet at the same time calm and elegantly structured. Instead of heavy extraction or opulent fruit, "Champs de Vosger" clearly prioritizes freshness, fine spice, and a very clear Burgundian line. It is precisely this combination of tension and precision that makes the wine particularly characterful.
The aging process remains deliberately subtle and minimalist, so that origin and vintage uncompromisingly take center stage. As a result, this Fixin displays a very classic Côte de Nuits style – mineral, silky, and with a long, elegant finish.
