The Johann Donabaum Grüner Veltliner Smaragd Ried Zornberg 2023 originates from a steep Wachau terraced vineyard around Spitz, known for its barren primary rock soils and particularly mineral-rich wines. The combination of sunny days and cool nights ensures slow grape ripening and gives the wine great tension and elegance.
The 2023 vintage produced very precise and balanced Grüner Veltliners. Thanks to the long growing season, the wine developed harmoniously, combining power with freshness and a fine structure.
Johann Donabaum relies on selective hand harvesting and restrained vinification to clearly highlight the characteristics of the vineyard.
