  • Domaine Pernot Père et Fils – Fine Pinot Noir from Burgundy

    2 comments by Marco Fuchs

The Domaine Pernot Père et Fils is located in Brochon in the heart of the Côte de Nuits. The family winery is now run by the fourth generation, Pascal Pernot, and focuses entirely on Pinot Noir. The vineyards are spread around Brochon, Fixin, and Gevrey-Chambertin.

    Burgundy with Finesse

At Pernot, it's less about maximum power and more about elegance and origin. The grapes are carefully processed, fermented with natural yeasts, and the wines are then mostly aged in wood for 15 to 18 months. This results in Pinot Noirs with delicate fruit, freshness, and a clear structure.

Particularly exciting are the different Gevrey-Chambertin from the Domaine. Old vines and limestone soils, depending on the site, create different characters – from elegant and mineral to more powerful, spicy, and structured.

From La Croix Violette to Gevrey-Chambertin

La Croix Violette, the historic original parcel of the Domaine, plays a special role. In addition, wines such as Bourgogne Côte d’Or are produced, as well as several Gevrey-Chambertin, including the single vineyards Les Jeunes Rois and En Champs.

The Domaine Pernot Père et Fils is thus an exciting address for anyone looking for classic Burgundian Pinot Noir with a delicate touch. Not overloaded wines, but straightforward, elegant Burgundies where grape variety and terroir are the focus.
