Description
2015 is considered one of the great modern Sauternes vintages and shows Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey in a particularly opulent yet precise form. The perfect conditions for noble rot produced wines with enormous concentration, but the limestone and gravel-rich soils ensure that the wine remains astonishingly fresh and elegant despite its intensity.
The 2015 appears deep and luxurious, yet incredibly finely balanced. The sweetness is dense and creamy, but is supported by vibrant acidity and fine mineral tension. Instead of appearing heavy or opulent, the wine shows great clarity, composure, and aristocratic elegance.
Lafaurie-Peyraguey consciously focuses on precision and structure rather than mere opulence. As a result, the 2015 develops enormous depth and complexity, with a long, silky finish and exceptional aging potential.
